Maya
Maya is a really sweet Lynx Girl. She is very playful and can even be snuggly sometimes, although she wasn't always this way. Maya came to wolfkeep from another facility that would no longer be able to handle her. When she got here, she was in an enclosure that was rather far from the facility, and she only got company once a day to be fed. She had a nasty disposition, and would happily share it with anyone who got close to enough to her. Barb really took a liking to her and has helped Maya come a long way!

She had Maya moved up to an enclosure nextdoor to her Bunkhouse, so she (Barb) could spend time with her every day. It was slow progress, but over the spring and summer here Maya has improved in her attitude to people 1000% percent! You'd think she was just a cute furry feline Cherubim(with big teeth)! Speaking of big teeth...the most astounding aspects of Maya's are her massive paws and her LONG hind legs. She must really be a pouncer! And those big feet are so good for walking in the winter time. You know how hard it is to walk in snow up to your waist? Well...a lynx doesn't have to...their massive paws help them walk on TOP of the snow.

Maya gets fed whatever kind of meat we can find for her. We're working on building a bunny pen to raise some rabbits as live food. For now, she gets a lot of hamburger, and occasionally fish, liver, or heart meats. She is attracted to salt. She will lick your armpits or skin if you have sweat on you or or clothing. Her tongue is REALLY tough, it's just like how a housecat has little hooks on their tongue, well...Maya's tongue is just like that only 5x stronger. It feels something akin to sandpaper.
